WA - Postcard From The Past

Spending several years abroad, I was lucky enough to find a place where I truly feel like I can be myself and let go of all negative emotions. This place to me is my second home, Western Australia. I can identify myself so much more with WA than my actual place of birth. Since it has been nearly impossible to go back to Australia due to the global pandemic, I can only hold onto these sweet memories.

When I close my eyes I can feel the morning sun hitting our faces in our bedroom, the cat impatiently scratching our bedroom door, the heatwave you face when leaving the cool house, the smell of the ocean breeze at Leighton Beach, sitting outside in the sun enjoying a good cup of coffee and brunch in Fremantle. Our road trip from the crowds, the friendly  and easy going community, my husbands family who always have our backs and that we miss so deeply.

WA - a postcard from the past is a collection inspired by Western Australian landscape, the mysterious depth of the ocean, feeling home and free, the warm feeling I get when i think about Australia but also the pain I face everyday missing my Australian home and family.

The most beautiful memories I have are from my time in WA that's why my whole project is devoted to this beautiful state and the beautiful people that made my time there so special.
